EVC Releases Economic Strategy for San Luis Obispo County

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., November 8, 2010 – Economic Vitality Corporation (EVC) announces the completion of an Economic Strategy for San Luis Obispo County which provides an assessment of, and strategy for, the county’s long-term economic prosperity. Formed over one year ago, this project represents the first-ever public-private partnership in San Luis Obispo County to provide a road map for greater economic vitality in the region. A comprehensive strategy has been created by COLLABORATIVE ECONOMICS, Inc. which was hired by EVC. Results of an industry cluster assessment were analyzed and a strategy has been created with input from more than 100 local business leaders.

Mission Community Bank Invests in EVC Micro Loan Program

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif., October 19, 2010 – Mission Community Bank makes a $25,000 investment into Economic Vitality Corporation's Micro Loan Program to help EVC offer more business loans to entrepreneurs throughout San Luis Obispo County. As a countywide non-profit economic development organization, EVC provides business resources and operates the only business loan programs of their kind in the county in partnership with local banks. The program guarantees business loans and issues micro loans to entrepreneurs for start-ups and expansions.
