Currently President and CEO of the Economic Vitality Corporation a non-profit economic development organization serving San Luis Obispo County. Manchak previously served as the project manager for Cal Poly’s California Central Coast Research Partnership, and has held leadership positions at technology companies in the west. He started his career in banking by managing real estate development financing in southern California at Chase Manhattan Corporation. Manchak has a business degree from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Workforce Investment Board; Twin Cities Community Hospital; Central Coast Economic Forecast; Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business; Rabobank Advisory Council; Cuesta College; and Central Coast Venture Forum’s Clean Business Investment Summit. He has served on the Boards of California Association for Local Economic Development, California Space Authority, and UCSB Economic Forecast Project.

Ms. Koos graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her specific areas of expertise include complying with corporate, individual, trust, and partnership tax law; planning tax strategies on an international, multistate, and local basis; researching complex tax issues; representing clients on audits by the IRS and various state taxing authorities; preparation of required income tax provisions and required disclosures for the financial statements for private entities; and consulting on accounting and auditing related issues. She currently serves as a member of the music education committee for the San Luis Obispo Symphony. She has previously served on the Board of Directors of the San Luis Obispo Symphony and on the Board of Directors of the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival. She is a member of the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Director of Marketing and Communications
A lifetime SLO County resident, Kaila Anderson graduated from Cal Poly in 2010 with a degree in business marketing and a minor in economics. With a six year tenure at the Economic Vitality Corporation, Kaila has tackled multiple roles and responsibilities for the organization. Starting as an intern right out of college, Kaila supported EVC programs and quickly grew to be central to EVC operations as the Economic Development Associate. Kaila is a critical part of every operation, deftly handling all organization and logistics, as well as building relationships with EVC’s business partners.
When she’s not carrying the torch at EVC, you can find Kaila playing golf, spending time with family, rooting on the San Francisco Giants, or discussing her other passion, foreign policy.
