About this Event
The California Space Authority extended a special invitation on February 27th to Central Coast community members for an update about a multi-purpose, multi-year community project to be located on 71 acres outside the front gate of Vandenberg Air Force Base on Highway 1. The Center is project to created more than 1,500 jobs and attract up to 500,000 visitors each year.
The proposed project includes a launch viewing site, visitors center, education complex, conference center, IMAX-like theatre and a mission support facility. It is planned that the community will benefit from the facilities and attractions at this site. The project will highlight the past, present, and future of the base, including its residents and activities

The EVC held its 2nd Annual Venture Capital Event on March 18, 2008 at the Madonna Inn Expo Center. This event enabled local companies seeking capital to connect with angel investors and venture capitalists from around the state. Entrepreneurs were selected through an on-line application process to be one of several companies to present their business case, or to have a booth to display their company. Featured Keynote Speaker for this event was Bill Reichert of Garage Technology Ventures and Master of Ceremonies, King Lee. Congratulations to elementsLocal, Aeromech Engineering, and AgriWorld Exchange on winning the 2008 Fast Pitch competition!

This forum hosted by Congressman McCarthy on November 30, 2007 at the Paso Robles Inn, featured presentations from the General Services Administration, the Small Business administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the local business resources, like the Economic Vitality Corporation, San Luis Obispo County, and he Paso Robles Chamber.
