Q: What is the EVC?
A: The EVC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that provides business resources to create a healthier local economy. In its eleventh year, the EVC is the designated entity for providing economic development resources and services throughout the County. Q: What does the EVC do? A: The EVC’s continues to create success stories in the business community by: 1. Stimulating the local economy by assisting companies start, expand, and stay in the County, as well as attract businesses to the County. 2. Fostering job creation 3. Increasing financial investment in the business community 4. Diversifying the local economy by fostering appropriate industry sectors. Q: How does the EVC help businesses or people who want to start a business?
A: By offering the following resources: 1. Business loans 2. Site selection services 3. Business advocacy 4. Workshops and seminars 5. Access to business counseling 6. Networking 7. Venture Capital & Angel Investor Network Q: How does the EVC help diversify and stimulate the local economy?
A: By helping businesses start and expand, as well as retain and attract businesses to the County. This creates more jobs, economic stimulus, a larger talent pool, and a greater diversity of business sectors. Q: What organizations sponsor, or invest into the EVC? A: The Q: Does the EVC help medium and large companies also? A: Yes. The EVC helps companies of all sizes and from all industry sectors. Q: Does the EVC help people or companies in unincorporated areas of the county?
A: Yes. The EVC helps companies and individuals throughout the County. Q: What has been the result of the EVC’s efforts since its inception? A: To date, the EVC’s programs and resources have resulted in helping companies: · Directly create and saved approximately 400 jobs. · Create a larger payroll and a resulting higher tax base. · Leveraged approximately $5.8 Million in bank loans, and guaranteed $1.8 million in loans. · Strengthened and diversified the local economy by helping businesses start and expand, and attract appropriate businesses to the County.
